Vilayat Abbas oglu Aliyev – head of the chair of Expertise of Consumer Goods at Azerbaijan Cooperation University, candidate of technical sciences, professor.

In 1965, Vilayat Abbas oglu Aliyev graduated from the Azerbaijan State University named after Kirov, majoring in “Organization of Food Commodities and Trade”, and received a higher specialization in Commodities. In 1965-1969, he worked as a store manager, director of a farm account store, chief merchandiser of the mixed goods trade department. From 1969 to 1980, he worked as a teacher at the Baku Soviet Trade Technical College. In 1980, he defended his candidate’s thesis on “Research of fish and its processing products” at the Moscow Cooperative Institute, and from 1980 he was transferred to the Baku branch of the Moscow Cooperative Institute. In this branch, he works as an assistant, head teacher, associate professor, and since 1965, a professor. During the tenure of the professor, 220 scientific articles, 40 programs, 4 brochures, 1 monograph, 2 patents related only to his specialty. 4 textbooks have been published. One of the textbooks was published in Turkey.

The professor has lectured for some time in 5 universities of Turkey: Malatya-Inonu, Izmir’s Ege, Gziantep, Elazik and Konya universities. He gave speeches at Gaziantep University of Turkey, at the Houston Institute of the United States, at the international congress, and at international universities. The professor has been engaged in social affairs for a long time. He is a member of the working group of the Agrarian Sector in the Milli Majlis, the working group in the field of Education, the method council of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan, since 1997, the chairman of the regional YAP organization Najaf Narimanov, the head of the Heydar Aliyev School at the Azerbaijan Cooperation University. The professor regularly makes speeches in Azerbaijan newspapers and televisions.

Prof. V.A. Aliyev with many honorary degrees, In 2014, he was awarded the Order of Honor of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan for his social activities and excellence in teaching, and the “Medal of Progress” by the decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the same year. In 2018, he was awarded with the “100th Anniversary Medal of the Republic” signed by the President and the Honorary Decree of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan on the occasion of the 80th anniversary.


The chair of Commodity Studies and Expertise was established in 1984. The chair’s scientific research plan for 2017-2020 – improving the quality of consumer goods entering the Republic, prevention of environmental pollution, research and expertise of the quality of fish and fish products brought to the Republic in 2017. At the same time, for 2017, the quality control of clothing products is the main factor of market protection. All employees of the chair participate in the implementation of scientific research work.
