An event was held at the Azerbaijan Cooperation University on the occasion of November 8 - Victory Day

The event was attended by war participants, veterans, university management, teachers and students who participated in the 44-day Patriotic War and are currently students of Azerbaijan Cooperation University. First, the National Anthem of Azerbaijan was played, and the dear memory of the sons of the Motherland, who lost their lives in the way of securing our independence and territorial integrity, was commemorated with a minute’s silence. Fikret Guliyev, vice-rector for educational affairs of the Cooperation University, delivered a wide-ranging speech at the event.

It was emphasized that the great Victory won in the Second Karabakh War was a celebration of the invincibility of our people and the power of our state. Under the Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, our army created a magnificent chronicle of our history in this 44-day long Patriotic War. The Patriotic War ended with the liberation of our occupied lands. Honoring its history with this great victory, the people of Azerbaijan demonstrated their strength and determination to fight for the truth to the whole world. With this victory, our brave army under the leadership of Supreme Commander-in-Chief Muzaffar ended the 30-year occupation of Armenia and removed the stigma of defeat from us. By liberating our lands, we were also recognized as a victorious nation and a victorious nation all over the world. The author of this historical reality, which our people are waiting for, is our President Muzaffar, our Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev. It was noted that in the second Karabakh war, the personnel of the Azerbaijan Armed Forces became a symbol of heroism with their struggle. From the battlefields, our soldiers showed the whole world how to fight for the land. Every child of the country created an example of bravery, courage and fearlessness, wrote a heroic chronicle.

At the end, the participants of the Patriotic War were awarded special honorary degrees by the university management.
